ABOUT

Anna Fransisca Nilsson is a classically trained figurative artist with her roots in Halland, Sweden.
She received her classical training at the Florence Academy of Art in Florence, and then proceeded to Scotland, where she took her BA in Fine Art at Glasgow School of Art.
She works mostly in oil, and a frequent subject is movement. Anna seeks to communicate the movement that represents an intermediate world, the movement that can be felt in fleeting moments, and often defines the root of an experience. Light and dark and contrasts are fundamental building blocks, and she often works in series with a continuous theme.
To create a room, a stage set where the paintings represent both actor and scenography.
Her latest works are performed on frosted plexiglass, a material she finds express the layers
she seeks to embody on it's own.
